Detail of choroidal neovascularization (CNV)
ncRNA name hsa-miR-24
ncRNA Category miRNA
Disease name choroidal neovascularization (CNV)
Species Homo sapiens
Tissues/Cell_line human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs)
Methods transfection, qRT-PCR, Northern blot, Western blot, luciferase reporter assay
Expression pattern up-regulated
Functional description miR-24 has been shown to regulate apoptosis and inhibit cell proliferation. In the absence of miR-23 and miR-27, there is a compensatory up-regulation of miR-24 in our in vitro and in vivo knockdown assays. The potential role of miR-24 in angiogenesis awaits future studies.
